Daisy May Taylor’s work is based around portraiture and surreal illustration with influences from alternative fashion and comic books. Her bold illustrations use flat sections of colour and prominent line art to create striking images with a lot of personality and attitude. Themes of body positivity and representation of different social groups run through her work, promoting and celebrating different types of beauty and the weirder side of the world we live in. Her current body of work explores deeper into the world of surrealism, through the medium of Gouache portraits in sets of 3 with linking backgrounds. These pieces examine the mental health struggles that affect many people during the pandemic.
